Although it may seem like the mainstream media has all but forgotten about the years-long water crisis in Flint, Michigan, Judge Greg Mathis has recently showed that it’s still on his mind—and he’s taking a big step to help. It’s heartbreaking and hard to believe that over five years later, the city of Flint, Michigan still doesn’t have clean water, impacting the lives and health of over 100,000 people. Fortunately, everyone’s favorite TV judge, Greg Mathis, recently decided to do his part to ensure that there are still those out there who want to help. As reported by @Newsone_Official, Judge Mathis, who is a Detroit native, recently donated 50,000 bottles of water to Flint’s students.Judge Mathis went into action to address the ongoing issue after discovering the cognitive effects the contaminated water has had on several students within the Flint school system. The 50,000 bottles of water he donated will be distributed to schools throughout Flint immediately. Additionally, Judge Mathis has also teamed up with AquaTru to provide nine water filtration systems to charter schools in the city.He further stressed that since government officials are seriously lacking in effort to rectify the problem, he is happy to step up and do what he believes is his responsibility. Judge Mathis also acknowledged that no parent should be put in a position to risk their child’s health due to the lack of accessibility to clean water. While commenting on the situation, he stated:“It’s difficult to win the confidence of the citizens that you have allowed to be harmed. If you wouldn’t risk it for your children, don’t ask these parents to risk it for theirs.”This isn’t the first donation that Judge Mathis has made to the city of Flint, as just last year he sent thousands of cases of water to residents as well. We want to continue to keep the city in our prayers.Roommates, what are your thoughts on this?
