The U.S. is going through a really hard time economically because of the whole Coronavirus, COVID-19 pandemic. As you may be aware, over three million Americans have lost their jobs, making for the highest unemployment rate in the country in a long time.
So it makes sense that when one of the First Daughters, Ivanka Trump, revealed that her kids are using uselessly expensive soaps to wash their hands and keep the virus away, people were upset!
It was even worse that it came across as Ivanka being detached from reality since it was actually her attempt to spread awareness about Coronavirus that got her in hot water.
That’s right! Donald Trump’s daughter was trying to educate people on what to do when it became apparent that her three kids were using a $39 bottle of Aesop soap!
The clip that she posted shows the 3, 6 and 8 year old children singing the ABC song while washing their hands as it takes the recommended 20 seconds to sing.
In the caption, their mother wrote: ‘We ALL have a role to play to slow the spread! Wash your hands (ohhh…and turn off the sink with your elbow or a towel while you do to save 💦 … still a work in progress with these guys 10 days in 🤷♀️) 💛.’
As mentioned before, people were not happy about the type of fancy soap they were using amid the country’s economic crisis caused by so many people losing their jobs and having to close down their small businesses.
Here are a few of the comments she got: ‘Ivanka Trump posted a video of her children washing their hands, with $39 hand soap. What’s next, tomorrow she’ll tell us to eat $100 cakes?’ / ‘Isn’t a $40 bottle of hand soap a bit expensive, @IvankaTrump?’ / ‘Completely out of touch with the real world! I stock up twice a year when they have sales from bath and body antibacterial soaps, hand sanitizer etc. $40 4 soap that cost $2 to make is just ridiculous and the fact that Ivanka is pushing it while people can’t work.’
