Cardi B might be an entertainer who sometimes goes very far on stage and on social media to keep her fans captivated but that does not mean she wants the same from her president.
The femcee, who has often gone on epic rants about President Donald Trump for some of his policies or behaviors, recently sat down with Vogue’s January 2020 issue, where she spoke about his wild and controversial media tactics.
A true political buff, Cardi shared an interesting piece of advice to the many Democrats running for office.
She said: “I feel like not any of these Democrats have a really strong support base—I’m gonna say a fan base, because it’s almost like a fan base, what Trump has. Because he was an entertainer, Trump knows how to get them to keep on talking about him. All these little antics that he does, like get into arguments with Chrissy Teigen, it’s just techniques to get attention. And I get that.”
Offset’s wife went on to reveal why she is turned off by Trump’s numerous gimmicks to get attention: “You like a certain artist that does crazy s***. But this person is in charge of our country. This person is in charge of our well-being. When it comes to my president, I want my president to be, like, extremely holy. That is the person I want to look up to.”
The New York rapper confessed: “I don’t want my president to have any hatred toward a certain type of people. I don’t want my president to be arguing with freaking celebrities or caring what people think of him. I want my president to tell me an answer on s*** that really matters. I don’t want my president to entertain me. I just don’t.”
Cardi, who is backing Senator Bernie Sanders, explained why she believes he would make a great president: “People are not perfect, but he has perfect intentions. He naturally cares about minorities. He actually cares about people getting Medicare because he knows they can’t afford it. I don’t feel like he’s just saying these things ’cause he wants the vote.”
She concluded by: “I could shake my a**, I could be the most ratchet-est person ever, I could get into a fight tomorrow, but I’m still a great mom. All the time I’m thinking about my kid. I’m shaking my a**, but at the same time I’m doing business, I’m on the phone with my business manager saying, make sure that a percentage of my check goes to my kid’s trust. I give my daughter so much love, and I’m setting her up for a future. I want to tell her that a lot of the s*** that I have done in life—no matter what I did, knowing that I wanted to have kids made me go harder to secure a good future for my kids.”
Cardi knows a thing a two about politics.
