Lil Nas X had a great year, and he managed to achieve more than break new musical ground with his record-breaking hit called Old Town Road. He makes history by being placed by Forbes on top of their annual list of Highest-Paid Country Acts.
The Shade Room reminds readers that Lil Nas X dominated both the hip hop and country charts with ‘Old Town Road.’
He managed to earn a few award nominations, and this includes this year’s Grammys. TSR writes that he is ‘still shaking up the industry with a song that is several months old. As reported by Forbes, Lil Nas X just made history as he is officially the first gay, black man to land on the ‘highest-paid country acts’ list in the outlet’s annual rankings.’
TSR continues and writes that ‘Due to “Old Town Road,” spending a record 19 weeks at number one on the Billboard singles chart, Lil Nas X, 20, debuted on the Forbes list of top-earning country acts of 2019 with an estimated pretax income of $14 million.’
Followers and fans congratulated him in the comments and highlighted the joy of having someone from the black community marking such an important achievement.
