CLOSEFRIDAYNorth Mississippi Allstars celebrate the release of their new record, “Up and Running,” with a concert in Memphis this week. The homecoming show by the long-running Mid-South blues-rock combo — led by brothers Luther and Cody Dickinson — will take place at the Kemmons Wilson Family Stage at the Crosstown Theater on Friday. Opening the show will be Memphis-born comedian Deric Poston. The 2002 movie is the second in the series of fantasy-adventures adapted from the best-selling novels by J.K. Rowling.2 and 8 p.m., 203 S. Main. Tickets: $21-$78. A three-hour-plus organized-crime epic that spans several decades of 20th-century history, the movie showcases an all-star trio of cinematic gangster all-stars, namely, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci. 7 p.m., 584 S. Visit malco.com.TUESDAY More a fun-raiser than a fund-raiser, Indie Memphis’ annual “Holiday Movie Trivia” night returns, but this time it has a big new home: the Crosstown Theater at Crosstown Concourse, to enable hosts and quiz-masters John Beifuss of The Commercial Appeal and Chris McCoy of the Memphis Flyer to show weird and wonderful film clips and otherwise make use of the venue’s large screen, for a more interactive trivia contest.
