The Bravo boss revealed that Porsha Williams nearly got fired from the Real Housewives of Atlanta. During a new interview, Andy Cohen shared that shocking detail but also revealed what the reality TV star did to change the producers’ minds!
While on The Jenny McCarthy Show yesterday, Andy opened up about many things, Porsha being one of the topics of discussion, more precisely, her rocky history with RHOA.
According to him, back in 2012, during her first season on the show, the producers were not sure she was the right fit for the show.
That being said, while trying to decide whether she should stay or get fired, they seemed to lean more towards the latter!
‘At the end of Porsha’s first season, she was at the reunion, and it had just been announced like a day before, Kordell [Stewart] was leaving her and there was a fairly healthy dialogue amongst the producers about whether Porsha was going to come back at that time. This was the end of her first season,’ Andy told Jenny.
She was obviously shocked to hear that and left out a ‘wow,’ prompting Andy to go on and explain that Porsha proved her worthiness at the reunion.
‘She got up there at that reunion and I was watching her and I was like, ‘oh my God’ I left, I was like, ‘I stand for Porsha, that was incredible’ and she cemented her place on the show. She gave like a two minute soliloquy about who she was and how she was gonna live her life going forward and this was not gonna define her and she’s stronger than this and I was like, ‘oh my god’. I totally underestimated this woman and look at where she is now on the show.’
